Tomasa del Real
A tattoo artist turned rapper from the small town of Iquique, Chile, she began uploading tracks and DIY videos on SoundCloud and YouTube for fun in 2013, which caught on and led her to re-release them as a debut album, Bien Y Mal, in 2016. That same year, she also coined the term NeoPerreo and began to really catalyze the bold, womxn-empowering movement around it. Tomasa has graced the stages of Coachella and Lollapalooza, as well as the pages of Grammy and Billboard.com. Tomasa Del Real is a pioneer, changing the face of reggaeton.
MS NINA
In July of 2019 the first release of a mixtape “Perreando por Fuera, llorando por fuera” was published. The perreo is a global manifestation of the adherence of reggaeton to the new generations of artists who access intuitive tools of the digital era. In this new mix, different genres such as romantic reggaeton, Dembow or Favela Funk are explored. With collaborations of figures from this scene, such as La Favi and Maria OT, and productions of Mygal X, Beauty Brain, King Doudou, among others, MS NINA is turning the misogynist speech into a new voice of the female figure prejudices, stereotypes and imperatives.
