Athletes must participate in at least 50 percent of the scheduled cornhole training sessions to qualify for Special Olympics competition. Participation in the MPDP Cornhole League does not automatically guarantee placement at the Fall Games.
Volunteer With the League
MPDP welcomes volunteers to serve as Unified Partners and Sport Assistants.
Unified Partners compete alongside Special Olympics athletes, encourage teamwork, model good sportsmanship, and help create an inclusive competitive experience.
Sport Assistants support the league through scorekeeping, equipment setup and organization, court management, athlete encouragement, and other duties assigned by MPDP staff.
Volunteers should be dependable, encouraging, respectful, and comfortable working with athletes of different abilities and experience levels.
Support MPDP Sports Leagues
Our MPDP Sports Leagues are provided free of charge to athletes through the generosity of sponsors, donors, and community partners, including the Friends of Metro Parks disABILITIES Programs.
Donations help cover equipment, uniforms, facility expenses, competition costs, transportation needs, awards, and other program resources. Every contribution helps MPDP continue offering accessible and inclusive sports opportunities for athletes throughout Nashville and Davidson County.
Individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in donating or sponsoring an MPDP Sports League may contact Glen Adkins or Jonathan Shelton through the Metro Parks disABILITIES Programs Office.
