This lecture by CMA Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Daniel Marcus explores the cultural background of Carl Orff’s Trionfo di Afrodite. Marcus discusses the suppression of modernism and revival of ancient Greek and Roman art in 1930s Germany. After the talk, enjoy a live performance by Columbus Symphony Orchestra musicians.
