About this Event

A Jewish Performance Art + Sacred Text Lab

Jewish text - breath - movement.

With Gaby Broome.

A free biweekly creative lab for creators, movers, writers, performers, and curious participants. Explore Jewish prayer and sacred text as material for performance, composition, improvisation, and embodied creation.

Through breath, gesture, voice, rhythm, stillness, writing, storytelling, and group movement, we will transform Jewish words and ideas into living creative work.

Each session may begin with a prayer, blessing, Psalm, Hebrew letter, Jewish story, or personal question, then move through experimentation toward a short solo, duet, ritual, movement score, spoken piece, or collective performance.

No dance or performance experience is necessary. Come to create, move, interpret, and discover how prayer can become an artistic practice.

Biweekly Wednesdays, 5:40-7:00 PM ET, beginning October 14, 2026.

17 Essex Street, Lower East Side, NYC.

FREE. Please register in advance through this event page.

A welcoming space for embodied prayer, Jewish learning, creative experimentation, and collective imagination.
