Moving Spirits, Inc. Past & Present - Charlotte

Celebrate 15 years of Moving Spirits, honoring our dance traditions, past works, and present voices through performance at the Charlotte Bal
About this Event

Celebrate 15 years of Moving Spirits, Inc. with 15 Years: Past & Present, an evening rooted in the remembrance and the spirit of Black dance. Moving Spirits is a contemporary arts organization dedicated to performing, researching, documenting, cultivating, and producing the arts of the African diaspora.

This anniversary performance highlights more than a decade of repertory that reflects the company’s commitment to honoring lineage while pushing creative boundaries. The company will also debut a new work in progress by internationally reknown choreographer, Vera Passos.

Audiences will experience works that center storytelling, spirituality, and social consciousness, continuing the company’s practice of using dance to bring awareness to injustices and uplift Black and Brown communities. Join us for an immersive and soulful evening of dance that reflects 15 years of community engagement, cultural preservation, and artistic excellence.
