About this Event

As part of the KCMOves Festival, we proudly present Moving Sounds: A Collaboration of Music & Dance” on September 6th at 6pm—an inspiring lecture panel featuring Guggenheim Fellows Gary Abbott and Paul Rudy. These visionary artists come together to explore the dynamic relationship between music and dance, offering insight into how sound shapes movement and how movement, in turn, reimagines sound. Drawing from decades of groundbreaking creative work, Abbott and Rudy will discuss their collaborative processes, the risks and rewards of interdisciplinary creation, and the ways in which artistic partnership expands possibility. “Moving Sounds” invites students, artists, and the community into a rich conversation about innovation, listening, and the power of collaboration across disciplines held at the UMKC Conservatory.
