A tribute to the music of Rush – British trio paying homage to the Canadian rock legendNot much needs to be said about the band Rush. Musically beyond any doubt, the Canadian trio shaped the international music landscape for decades and left behind a back catalog that is “of”. After more than 40 years of band history, Rush left the band somewhat surprisingly in 2015 and, as one would expect from these friendly gentlemen, without a big farewell tour, farewell album or other media antics. Since then, Rush fans around the world have been thirsting to be able to experience songs like “Tom Sawyer”, “Closer To The Heart” and “Xanadu” live again.
The Scottish band Moving Pictures has set itself the task of putting together a tribute to Rush at the highest musical level. In 2023, the trio completed over fifty gigs, one of which was at Canada's Lakeside Park for the family of the late Rush drummer Neil Peart. After the performance in Glasgow on August 19, 2023, Darren Redick from Planet Rock Radio wrote enthusiastically: “Moving Pictures - they're really really good. I give them a double Redick thumbs-up!”
An extensive tour of Great Britain, Brazil, Benelux and Europe is planned for this year. The setlist of their two-hour-plus shows includes songs from every Rush era, and the trio's authentic instrumentation (including doubleneck guitars) does its part to bring Rush's great works to life.
