About this Event
Manchester Museum is proud to be taking part in this year’s Refugee Week, the worlds largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, resilience and creativity of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
Join the Museum and our partners for an evening of films, exploring themes of compassion, creativity, and identity.
With Manchester City of Sanctuary, Ancient History, Contemporary Belonging, Olympias Music Foundation and Diala Brisly.
Included in the evening's programme will be the screening of Migrant Voices, a documentary film which follows 34 Manchester musicians from 27 different countries as they embark on a week-long artist residency with Olympias Music Foundation in June 2022. Produced by filmmaker John Lloyd, the documentary is an intimate record of these musicians first encounters with each other, friendships and disagreements, and the creative processes the group undergo as they prepare to perform four new musical works (created together over the course of the residency) over the Jubilee weekend at Stoller Hall.
More details of the evenings programme to follow.
