Exploring our inner multitudes through the language of the body
About this Event

In this workshop we will explore the language of the body, and the many parts of ourselves that show up through sensations, thoughts, and emotions. Through movement, breath, and sound, we’ll practice tuning in with curiosity, exploring our inner landscapes and building deeper trust with our bodies.
More information:

Our bodies, minds and hearts hold so much as we navigate this wild, messy, often overwhelming experience of being human. They speak to us constantly. Maybe that sounds like a critical inner voice saying "you aren't good enough", or feels like a tug in your gut that tells you to run away. Maybe it's an inexplicable pain in the body, or a yearning to express yourself freely while feeling deeply resistant to expression at the same time.
During out time together we will explore our inner multitudes through the body, using principles of Somatic Parts Work. This model holds that we all have “parts”, or aspects of ourselves, that manifest and store different memories, experiences and behaviors. It encourages that all parts, regardless of how they may express themselves, have a positive intent and want to help us navigate the world. Our gut responses, bodily impulses, and felt sensations can be windows into these parts.

Through exploring body awareness, breath, sound and movement, we will invite these aspects to express themselves and come into relationship with our systems as a whole. The invitation for us will be to tune in, listen, and get curious about what comes up, which can be an avenue toward building more internal bodily trust, and finding greater expansion and relaxation in our lives.
Who is this for?

  • Anyone who wants to build more trust in and connection with themselves
  • Anyone who wants to feel more connected to their body
  • Anyone who wants to experience more communal healing and coregulation
  • Anyone who is curious what this experience might bring them
No experience necessary. Know that however you show up is exactly right, and whatever comes up during our time together is exactly right.
    What to bring:
  • Yourself
  • Yoga mat or blanket if you wish
  • Something to write in
  • Water
