Join the Historic House Museums of Knoxville each Friday in September as they continue their collaborative program, Movies at the Museums! Enjoy four different movies at four different historic house museums.
From Mummy escapades and magical childhood classics to silly animation and fast-paced action, each historic house museum will show a different film for audiences to enjoy while also taking in the unique landscapes of the historic site.
Admission is FREE for each movie, but donations are greatly appreciated to support each museum’s preservation mission. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, or other
items to make their time there comfortable. Concessions will be available at each museum.

The Mummy(1999)

The Mummy is a rousing, suspenseful, and horrifying epic about an expedition of treasure-seeking explorers in the Sahara Desert in 1925. Stumbling upon an ancient tomb, the hunters unwittingly set loose a 3,000-year-old legacy of terror, which is embodied in the vengeful reincarnation of an Egyptian priest who had been sentenced to an eternity as one of the living dead.

Adaptation of the first of J.K. Rowling's popular children's novels about Harry Potter, a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards. There, he meets several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover the truth about his parents' mysterious deaths at the hands of a powerful adversary.

A green ogre living a life of solitude in a faraway swamp, Shrek is suddenly invaded by a horde of fairy tale characters, such as the Big Bad Wolf and the Three Little Pigs, all refugees of their homes who have been shunned by the evil Lord Farquaad. Shrek decides to offer Lord Farquaad a deal; he will rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona , who is intended to be Farquaad's bride, in exchange for peace and quiet at his swamp.

The Bandit, a charismatic bootlegger, takes a bet to ship a truck full of beer from Texas to Arkansas. While pulling off the stunt, he falls in love with a woman engaged to the son of a dyspeptic sheriff who takes it upon himself to stop Bandit.
