The Silent Night, Deadly Night franchise is a wild ride. The first four are technically connected (although barely by part 4)… but The Toy Maker is an outlier… probably the most outright “Christmas” themed since the first, but also the most detatched from its slasher roots. This is the Halloween III: Season of the Witch of the SNDN collection.
Mickey Rooney plays a toy shop owner with a secret… you don’t really need to know a whole lot more going in, other than this was released at the height of straight to video horror and it totally lives up to it.
Funny side note, the original was one of the most protested movies of the 80s… parents just couldnt handle the idea that Santa could be desicrated like this. And one of the most outspoken celebrities? None other than Mr. Mickey Rooney. A buck is a buck, I suppose.
So, see you at The Nook, bring a chair if you have one (we have seating, but it is limited). As with all Movie Trash at The Nook screenings, it is free and open to the public. However, if you’d like to throw Orlando Pop-Up Movie Services a few bucks in the tip jar, that would be amazing.
