Movie Screening: Daughters of the Dust, with discussion

This powerful movie explores generational relationships in a Low Country family who as part of their Gullah community have adopted many ancestral Yoruba traditions. Dr. White will guide us through a discussion of African continuities and retentions which we can apply to our current understanding of the Gullah Geechee community and culture.
