Movie, Pizza, and a Tour returns with a very special presentation!
Alabama Public Television's Monograph is honored to bring you a very special episode paying tribute to one of Alabama’s most prolific vernacular artists, the late Thornton Dial. Watch host Jackie Clay as she spends time with Thornton Dial’s family and speaks with Dial’s friend, fellow artist Lonnie Holley. Together they discuss Thornton Dial’s life, his art, and his legacy.
1. Join us at the Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall at UAB's Alys Stephens Center for the special screening.
2. Q& A will follow the screening moderated by Gareth Jones, UAB Director of the Office of Service Learning and Undergraduate Education, with the Monograph production team.
3. Make your way across the street to Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts for pizza and to take a tour of our latest exhibition Thornton Dial: I, Too, Am Alabama.
