Movie Nights in the D: A Minecraft Movie

Get ready for a fun-filled summer evening at Movie Nights in the D! Bring your family and friends to enjoy a variety of classic films on the big screen at our free outdoor movie series at Campus Martius Park. Grab a chair or blanket and settle in on the lawn for a relaxing night under the stars. Arrive by 6 pm to secure your spot and take part in exciting onsite activations before the movie kicks off at 7 pm. And don’t forget to grab some delicious popcorn from Jetta’s Popcorn while you enjoy the show!

A mysterious portal pulls four misfits into the Overworld, a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master the terrain while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected crafter named Steve.

Arrive early before the Movie begins at 7 p.m. for a fun, hands-on activation with Detroit CHEMpreneurist from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Innovation Station: Motor City Block Builders. Youth and families can tap into their creativity by designing miniature inventions and building block-world creations using simple materials and big ideas. It’s a chance to explore imagination, storytelling and innovation through interactive play—and everyone will leave with their own custom creation before settling in for the movie.
