Patient
Lori Felker / USA / Digital / 20min
Fiction, reality, the private, and the performed overlap on a routine but emotional day at a medical center.

Queen
Kai Nealis / USA / 16mm / 9min
While visiting their estranged grandfather in a rural trailer park, a teenager searches for their father's ethos amid socioeconomic, environmental, racial, and gendered binaries.

The Kittens’ Tea Party
MiruFiyu / Canada / Digital / 11min
In a quiet residential neighbourhood, the tension between domestic, wild and work animals is caught on home security camera, recorded through windows and souvenired in old postcards. A found-footage piece made as a reaction to the internet's obsession with pets, The Kittens' Tea Party allegorizes speciesism. [& alludes to home invasion fear, nature’s revenge, settler colonialism]

Jessie the Ghost
Patrick Boehmcke / USA / Digital / 13min
A wanted cyber criminal lays low at the Jersey Shore.

Marginal Understandings (Dirt: Part Two)
David Finkelstein / USA / MiniDV / 22min
Marginal Understandings is a poetic exploration of the American relationship to space, the soil, and ownership. A collage of poetic imagery, music, and abstracted, incantatory language, the film follows two men in an excavation of our cultural soil, using improvised dialog. Their words give rise to unexpected landscapes, populated by bats, conquistadors, and flying fiddles. A postmodern video opera, Marginal Understandings bathes the viewer in music, language, and visual spectacle.

The Warmest Color is Blue
Kevin Ralston / USA / Digital / 6min
Rebecca comes home from work one day to find her TV is missing. Detective JW Bond arrives on the scene to find out what happened to Rebecca’s TV. Together, they find more than what they bargained for.

Pizza Road
Tim Dübbert / Germany / Super8 / 3min
Pizza Road is a dream-like loop of a traveling Pizza.

Ywnhx
Nate Dorr / USA / Digital / 5min
We have intervened in the landscape, reshaped and fragmented it. Yet it outlasts us. ywnhx hovers in temporal uncertainty: told from beyond us yet amidst our physical memory, we are here yet not here, already come and gone, outlived by junked cars and microplastics, under the alarm cries of foxes and fragmentary bird calls. Composed of documentary footage and sound painstakingly processed to pry apart the assurances of recorded time -- nearly all images here were created by scanning and reconstructing video footage on a flatbed scanner as a diy slit scan.
