About this Event
Celebrate 10 years of Ishti Collective with Movements of Many — a free 3-day outdoor, family-friendly performance experience across Chicago parks in July 2026!
Enjoy an evening of dance performances, communal rangoli crafts, local makers, food vendors, and community activities in a vibrant mela-like atmosphere full of movement, creativity, and connection.
Event Locations:
- Green Briar Park – July 9, 2026, from 6 - 8 pm at 2650 W. Peterson Ave.
- Independence Park – July 10, 2026, from 6-8 pm at 3945 N. Springfield Ave.
- Nichols Park – July 11, 2026, from 1-3 pm at 1355 E. 53rd St.
Over the last decade, Ishti has grown into a collective shaped by many movement traditions and artistic backgrounds. Movements of Many celebrates this journey through performances featuring: Ishti 's repertoire Seen/Unseen (2025) and A new piece developed during a July workshop intensive, Bharatanatyam by internationally acclaimed artist Sarmishtha Sarkar, Romani dance by longtime collaborators Firebird Dance and A BollyX dance party open to all!
Bring your blankets, chairs, and picnic snacks to enjoy these free performances under the summer sky with family, friends, and neighbors.
