Dream Big Fish:
Dream Big Fish is an international group of improvisers from Berlin and New York. Challenging themselves to find expression, beauty and meaning in the intimate setting of the trio, this band creates a sound somewhere in between free improvisation and conceptual composition.
Intertwined grooves, rhythmic cells and powerful melodies create a sonic world that is unique and profund, showcasing the groups creativity and willingness to always leave their comfort zone.
_______
Joe Harvey-Whyte:
Joe’s time bending solo work combines the sound of the pedal steel and regular guitar with electronics and field recordings to make moving instrumental pieces that create a space for deep listening & reflection.
Aside from his own releases Joe is also a highly in-demand session player working with the likes of Aldous Harding, James Vincent Mcmorrow, Nilüfer Yanya, Liam Gallagher and John Squire, Billy Bragg and many more.
_______
Halfdan Magnus Stefansson:
Halfdan Magnus Stefansson is active on the underground scenes in Denmark, in a long line of bands placed differently on the spectrum of alternative music.
Only on rare occasions is he performing solo, but with two concerts in June and July in his own name, he is intending to sum up his work with the electric guitar, in a format to let them stand by themselves.
He is autodidact in his approach to the instrument, somewhat extending the nowave guitar tradition, using the instrument as a generator of sound, as opposed to it being a strict idiomatic object.
He is working with alternative tunings, techniques, and preparations, all used to create atmospheric sounds - both harsh and of beauty.
He is not a versatile musician, but his unique approach to the guitar, is used in bands such as Bending Backwards, TS Høeg’s Psychobillyjazz 3, Spiderpeople and Farvel & Peter Laugesen. Halfdan Magnus Stefansson is also one of the driving forces behind the record label and music platform Movement Shaped Like a Heart.
For the concert, he will be preparing new works for the guitar.
