10-10:30: Opening, Intro’s, and Warm-up
10:30-12:30: Feldenkrais workshop with Erica Baker (Kelowna)
12:30-1:30: Lunch (not provided, workshop is downtown Summerland close to shopping and restaurants)
1:30-3:30: Contact Improvisation Workshop with Hailey McCloskey (Kelowna)
3:30-6: Open Contact Improvisation jamming and contemplative movement with Peter Kok (OK Falls)
In this Full Day workshop we will explore and expand movement vocabulary through a Deep dive into 3 connected Movement practices:
Feldenkrais Method® is a form of neuromuscular reeducation with applications similar to physical therapy Using a holistic approach.
It’s for anyone seeking more comfortable, efficient, sustainable movement and greater self-awareness for self-discovery and creativity, personal autonomy, and quality of life improvement.
Contact Improvisation is a dance practice that involves body contact, weight sharing, momentum, and improvisational movement.
Contemplative movement offers Awareness tools, images, and frameworks to explore and encourage experimental, improvisational movement.
Erica Baker is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, Neurosomatic Educator and multidisciplinary artist weaving science and artistry into movement, guiding people into deeper awareness of their unique self-expression. Rooted in curiosity, care, and relationship, her Feldenkrais® work invites a dialogue between anatomy’s precision and humanity’s vast potential.
Hailey McCloskey is aN RMT and dance artist in Kelowna with formative training at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, UBC (Anthropology), and OVCMT. She has been producing and teaching Contact Improvisation in Kelowna for the past 1.5 Years after training in the form for over 10 years. She has performed work in venues and contexts in and around Vancouver and BC, most recently performing "22 Rooms" at Living Things Festival 2025 with vocalist Jessie Rivest.
Peter Kok is a dancer and mover Drawing experience from various forms including: Contact Improvisation, Butoh, authentic movement, and contemplative dance. In facilitation he enjoys weaving body awareness, spatial awareness, and improvisational forms of movement to encourage a wider range of movement vocabulary.
