About this Event
Do you feel like you’re always on edge—even when nothing is “wrong”?
If your default is pushing, hustling, and judging yourself for never doing or being enough, your nervous system is probably carrying more than it can process with your mind alone.
Move Through Stress & Self-Criticism is a 4-week somatic movement series designed to help you:
- Downshift your nervous system out of constant “go mode”
- Release tension and stress that’s stuck in the body
- Soften the harsh inner commentary that drains your energy
- Practice relating to yourself with more compassion and ease
We’ll use intuitive movement, breath, sounding, and grounding practices to support your body in doing what it’s wired to do: complete stress cycles and return to a greater sense of safety.
Who this is for
This series is for you if you:
- Feel like you’re constantly “on” or bracing for the next thing
- Are highly self-critical, even when you’re doing your best
- Have a hard time relaxing without feeling guilty or unproductive
- Spend a lot of time in your head and want to reconnect to your body
- Crave a grounded, non-woo space to move, feel, and reset
You do not need dance experience. You don’t need to be “fit.”
You just need to be willing to listen to your body and move at your own pace.
What we’ll do each week
Each 75-minute session will follow a similar arc:
- Arrival & check-in: Grounding, intentions, and simple prompts to notice how you’re arriving.
- Somatic landing: Breathwork, gentle shaking, and grounding practices to help your body downshift from stress mode.
- Intuitive movement journey: Guided, free-form movement with music—no choreography, no right or wrong. We’ll explore themes like: `What does “too much pressure” feel like in your body? How does your body move when it feels supported instead of judged?
- Integration & closing circle: Short reflection, a word or sentence share, and a simple ritual to honour what moved.
You’re always in choice. You can sit, rest, or pause at any time.
What you’ll walk away with
By the end of the 4 weeks, you can expect to:
- Feel more at home and less on edge in your body
- Recognise how stress and self-criticism show up somatically for you
- Have practical tools (movements, breath, rituals) to help you reset
- Experience what it’s like to be witnessed without judgment in community
