About this Event

ABOUT THE INTENSIVE
Move Through It is a three-day embodied experience that brings together Orisha wisdom, live music, rhythm, song, dance, guided conversation, and therapeutic support. Participants will explore the energies of Eshu/Elegua, Yemaya, and Oshun through group discussion, reflection, question-and-answer, and movement.
Each session invites participants to move beyond simply learning the songs, rhythms, and dances of each Orisha and into experiencing their energy through the body. With repetition, live music, movement, and intentional reflection, participants are invited to explore what arises within them and discover new pathways for expression, connection, release, and integration.
Classes will also be supported by a licensed psychotherapist, offering an opportunity to further explore the relationship between movement, emotion, and healing. Through facilitated conversation and reflection, participants can examine the stories, patterns, and emotional or spiritual weight they may be carrying while using movement as another language for processing and self-discovery.
Move Through It creates space to slow down, listen inwardly, reconnect with the body, and explore how Orisha wisdom, ancestral reflection, music, movement, and therapeutic insight can support us in releasing what no longer serves us and moving through life with greater awareness, connection, and intention.

Agenda

🕑: 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
DAY ONE — ESU / ELEGUA

Info: What happens when we recognize that we have choices? The first day establishes the foundation for the intensive. For this experience, we will use that, dances, songs, and symbolism as an invitation to examine the crossroads in our own lives.

🕑: 11:00 AM - 01:00 PM
DAY TWO — YEMAYA

Info: Yemaya/Yemoja is deeply associated with water and motherhood in Yoruba traditions, with particular expressions and histories varying across traditions and diasporic lineages. For this experience, we will use dance, songs, and symbolism as an invitation to examine what needs to be released in our lives.

🕑: 11:00 AM - 01:00 PM
DAY THREE — OSHUN

Info: Oshun is associated with fresh water, sweetness, beauty, love, sensuality, fertility, creativity, diplomacy, prosperity, and the ability to attract and cultivate what nourishes life. Her energy provides an opportunity to use dance songs and symbolism to explore something that can be surprisingly difficult. Receiving. After examining crossroads and patterns through Eshu/Elegua and emotional carrying/release through Yemaya, Oshun brings the journey toward reclamation. This day is about remembering pleasure, beauty, creativity, softness, confidence, and worthiness—not as superficial concepts, but as vital parts of a whole human life.
