Join us for the exhilarating Mournes 7 Seven’s One Day Challenge on Sat May 17, 2024! Strap on your hiking boots and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in the stunning Mourne Mountains. This event is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking to push their limits and conquer the magnificent Mournes.
Meeting bright and early at 06:30 AM, this in-person challenge will test your endurance as you conquer the seven highest peaks in the Mournes in just one day. From the breathtaking views atop Slieve Donard to the rugged beauty of Slieve Bearnagh, each summit will leave you in awe.
The Mournes 7 Seven’s One Day Challenge is the perfect opportunity to push yourself and experience the natural wonders of Northern Ireland. Don't miss out on this incredible adventure!
The Mournes 7 Sevens is a long distance route in the Mourne Mountains which includes all 7 mountains over 700m (sort of- Meelmore historically accidentally slipped in there). We will tell you more about that on the day!
This is a big challenge! You will be hiking for 26km and ascend/descend 2,500m. It will take approximately 12-14 hours and you will need a very good level of fitness to complete this challenge. We will be following our own uniquely designed linear route which ensures we cover all 7 peaks. On completion of the challenge you will be awarded one of our unique 7 Sevens medals.

Meet Point : Happy Valley Carpark
Hike Start Point : Carrick Little - please note this is different to HIKE START point - we will be shuttled to start point - please see details below

Can I go on my own?
Of course, there are lots of people that join our events on their own, it won’t be long until you are making new mountain mates!
What you will need to wear:
Suitable footwear- this includes walking boots or waterproof hiking/mountain running trail shoes
Walking trousers or leggings (no jeans/cotton)
Insulating layers such as fleece or wool and a jacket
What you will need to bring with you:
Backpack
Waterproof jacket and trousers
Hat and gloves
Water and food (plenty of)
Head torch and spare batteries
Are you ready for an adventure? You will get a guided hike with qualified and experienced mountain leaders who are outdoor first aid trained and will be carrying first aid and emergency equipment for your safety.

Please note that we will be transported by the Mourne Shuttle Service from Happy Valley to begin our hike at Carrick Little. We will then hike back to the cars at Happy Valley.
£10 payable on the day for the shuttle
We will meet the bus at 0630 at Happy Valley Carpark to be shuttled to our start point at Carrick Little, to start our hike at 0700.
**If you dont require the shuttle, and plan to met us at the hike start point, please let us know prior to the event. Remember this is a linear route so you would require someone to pick you up.
We are dog friendly (dogs on lead please). Please ensure that your dog is accustomed to this type of exercise and is fit enough to complete this extremely strenuous challenge . Please also consider the temperature on the day.🐾
CANCELLATION POLICY:
IF WE CANCEL OR POSTPONE an event for any reason, you will have the option of:
1. Completing your activity on a rescheduled date
2. Receive a full refund.
IF YOU CANCEL:
If you notify us with over 14 days notice of the event start date credit will be given that you can use against other events. Within 14 days notice of an event there is no credit given and we do not offer exchanges/transfer of your ticket onto another event.
Please note: Due to the nature of the events we provide and the environments these take place in, hikes will not be cancelled simply because of bad weather. However they will be cancelled by us if bad weather deems the event dangerous. In this instance we will get in touch to notify you.
