Cornwall Wildlife Trust are bringing together the community of the Mounts Bay area to discuss and create a new plan of action to promote nature recovery in their local marine environment, the ‘Charter of the Sea’.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Cornwall Wildlife Trust have entered their new phase of the Your Shore Project. This will extend their work, connecting communities and young people with the marine environment to promote nature recovery in their local area, focusing specifically on the Mounts Bay area.

Mounts Bay is an iconic coastal location here in Cornwall, with some of the most recognisable views and landmarks in the region. An important Marine Conservation Zone, it’s home to many weird and wonderful marine animals and plants, ranging from the fascinating critters on the shoreline… to the charismatic and incredible marine megafauna out to sea, all vital to our ocean’s ecosystems.

The Your Shore project aims to work in collaboration with local groups and schools to empower them to take action to tackle the nature and climate crises by looking after their local marine environment.

We want everyone to get involved and have a say in how to protect your local area by getting together to create the Mounts Bay ‘Charter of the Sea’. This is a plan of action created by the local community to encourage and ignite nature recovery in this beautiful and inspiring area.

Join us for an evening of discussions and workshop at local business On the Bay restaurant in Penzance. We welcome all members of the Mounts Bay community including residents, business owners, community groups, youth group and school leaders, local councillors, harbour authorities and any other interested parties. We want to hear your opinions and let us know what you think should be done and what you are passionate about.

The event is FREE to attend and complimentary tea, coffee and cake will be provided.

Parking is available in the Penzance Harbour car park.
