Join our four-session mountain biking class designed specifically for mature audiences looking to enhance their comfort and confidence on the trails. Perfect for novices and those seeking to refine their skills, this course covers essential topics such as equipment selection and setup, balance, body positioning, and cadence. You’ll learn to navigate uphills and downhills safely, master cornering, separate body and bike movements, and gain control over your bike. Additionally, we’ll teach you how to hop over small obstacles and handle minor drops. Embark on this adventure with us and explore local trails while becoming a more skilled and confident mountain biker.Some initial list of topics that may be covered depending on the group:
Equipment, bike set-up, trail stewardship & etiquette
Balance – bike position, body movement, pedal technique, grip pressure
Efficient climbing while seated
Gear Selection, cadence, shifting
Braking without skidding
Descending and Cornering
Foundation maneuvers: wheel lifts, hops, roll downs, tight turns
Meeting locations will be determined based on conditions. Participants will be notified prior to class.
