Join Us for a Motivational Interviewing Lunch & Learn
The Multi-Ethnic Collaborative of Community Agencies (MECCA) invites you to an engaging, skill-building training on Motivational Interviewing (MI) — an evidence-based counseling approach designed to help individuals strengthen their motivation and commitment to change.
This interactive session will be led by Andy Cecrle, MA, of The Purpose of Recovery.
Whether you are new to the behavioral health field or looking to deepen your clinical skills, this training will provide practical tools you can immediately apply in your work.
Lunch will be provided.
What is Motivational Interviewing?
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, person-centered approach that helps individuals resolve ambivalence and build internal motivation for change.
Participants will learn how MI helps clients by:
- Identifying discrepancies between current behaviors and personal values or goals
- Eliciting change talk to strengthen commitment and readiness
- Supporting self-efficacy and confidence in the ability to change
- Empowering autonomy by honoring the client’s ownership of their journey
