Motion – The Midlands Trance Festival Presents Will Rees, Maria Healy plus support.
After the phenomenal success of the Midlands Trance Festival in 2024 at the Bluenote in Derby, we're back with a stellar lineup. As an added treat, we will be taking over the Bluenote, making some changes to feature a centre stage complete with lasers, lighting, and effects to elevate the experience even further.
For our Spring 2025 edition, we are ramping things up, bringing you an incredible lineup of headliners and support acts that you won’t want to miss. This once again will be an event that runs from afternoon to evening 2pm till 11pm.
Our headliners:
Will Rees - We are very excited to bring Will to Motion as we feel his sound fits perfectly with what Motion is all about!
Will's unique sound of euphoric melodies & driving basslines have landed him releases that are consistently reaching the top of the Beatport charts including ‘Need You’ a modern Trance classic, ‘Burnin’ Up’, ‘Vitality’, ‘Waking Dream’ & his massive remix for the world’s biggest Trance DJ Armin Van Buuren ‘Clear Blue Moon’. He is regularly seen releasing his music on Kearnage Recordings, Armada, Outburst & Subculture. On top of this, he has remixed for artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Gareth Emery & Bryan Kearney, Craig Connelly & Mark Sherry to name a few.
His passion and dedication to the scene has taken him to some of the world’s biggest dance events including Creamfields, Dreamstate, FSOE, Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Luminosity & has played all over the world including USA, Asia & all over Europe.
Maria Healy - we are thrilled to announce the Queen of Trance herself:
Maria Healy is undoubtedly the most exciting female artist in trance right now. Over the past few years, Maria has consistently released tracks on Subculture, Kearnage, GOMusic, Regenerate, and Vandit. Her music regularly features in the playlists of A-listers like John O’Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and Sean Tyas. Maria has become synonymous with producing and playing quality uplifting and tech trance.
A regular on the trance touring calendar, Maria has performed at some of the world’s biggest trance events, including Subculture, Luminosity, Liberation, and Cream. In 2019, she was nominated for ‘Best Female Artist’ in the IDMA awards.
Our Support:
Artic Barbers - Making their Debut Appearance at Motion: The Arctic Barbers!
We are thrilled to introduce the trance trio Carter, Bif, and Carbs, also known as the Arctic Barbers! These talented artists from the Northeast have made a significant impact on the British trance scene with their latest signing to the record label 'In Trance We Trust,' in collaboration with Adam Ellis on their new track, 'Sands End.'
We can't wait to see what the Arctic Barbers will bring to Motion, and if their productions and DJ sets are any indication, we're all in for an incredible treat!
Podders - Introducing the one and only Podders to the Motion lineup!
Steve Podmore, aka Podders, is a true knight of the trance table. This multi-genre DJ from the Northwest, UK, has a real passion for Trance. He's been DJing since the late '90s and has been fortunate enough to play at some of the UK's biggest festivals. His popular Twitch TV show, Podskitchen, has garnered over 3.3K followers, making Podders a highly respected artist in the scene.
Colin Elson - Affectionately known in the trance scene as "Uncle." Colin has been spinning trance tunes for as long as we can remember, and he's back at Motion after blowing the roof off at our September event. Known for his tougher side of trance, we believe Colin will perfectly complement the event and seamlessly fit into our planned lineup.
Tremors - We’re thrilled to introduce Tremors, also known as Lee, who is no stranger to Motion. Lee has recently joined our Motion management team and will be instrumental in promoting all our events moving forward.
Tremors has demonstrated his exceptional talent at the Midlands Trance Festival and has been a standout performer at several of our previous events. Renowned for his uplifting vocal trance sets, Lee will be opening the event, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
Residents:
Danny Minns - Danny has been at the forefront of Motion for over 25 years. He’s not just a resident DJ but also a joint promoter and a key member of the Motion management team. Danny has been on the scene for year since his younger years, he is well known for delivering high energy driving trance sets playing the hottest most sort after tracks plus well known for delivery a quality classics set... Danny joins a massive line up of Trance talent for 26th April 2025!!
St John - John has been DJing since the late '80s and embarked on a musical journey that led him to discover Trance in 1997. His love for trance clubs and afterparties landed him as co-owner, resident DJ, and co-promoter of Motion, which he and his best friend Jamo launched in the early 2000s. Throughout his career, John has played at some of the biggest clubs in the UK, Ibiza, and even Slovenia. St John concludes the lineup for April 26th, 2025. This is going to be one event to remember!
