Motion and Light Photography Event Series

Montcalm East proudly presents its latest series of Photography Masterclasses, led by our talented photographer-in-residence, Rory Swift (IG: @rozzaphotos), known for his dynamic style that blends storytelling, expression, and capturing people in their element. Rory brings his extensive experience, from covering events like London Fashion Week to documenting cultural traditions to these interactive sessions designed for both aspiring and seasoned photographers.

These intimate workshops will take place in Montcalm East’s exclusive photography studio, where Rory will guide participants through mastering the essentials of photography and developing their unique aesthetic. Attendees will gain valuable hands-on experience while learning key techniques that will enhance their skills, no matter their level of expertise.

Saturday, 26th October 2024 – Learning Photography Basics: Motion and Light

From 11 am to 1 pm, this session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of studio photography, with a focus on mastering motion and light. Rory will share essential tips and tricks, helping photographers better understand camera settings and how to manipulate light sources to capture dynamic shots. This workshop will also explore the different roles involved in a photoshoot, providing attendees with the foundation to enhance their future projects.

Participants are advised to bring their cameras and smartphones.

Saturday, 16th November 2024 – Learning Photography Basics: Creating Your Aesthetic Through Editing

Join Rory from 11 am to 1 pm as he dives into the art of editing, offering insights into transforming digital images into stunning monochrome and film-like photographs. This session will focus on advanced editing techniques, showing participants how to create and refine their own aesthetic. Rory will walk attendees through the creative process, from choosing the right editing tools to developing a personal style that resonates through their work.

Participants are advised to bring their cameras, laptops, and smartphones with editing software.
