Mothers’ Mental Health Circle: Exploring Art Through Movement

Mamas deserve care, too. 🌙 Join us for our first Mothers’ Mental Health Circle, a nourishing 90-minute workshop co-hosted by My Good Brain and Back To You.

Led by Keila Sachi Gaballo (they/she) of Back To You, alongside Dr. Danessa Mayo of My Good Brain, this circle invites all women and femmes who identify with the role of “mother” within their family.

Together, we’ll explore the richness of our emotions through:

✨ Mindfulness + breathwork

✨ Journaling + guided prompts

✨ Mixed media collage to express feelings

✨ Gentle, accessible yoga to reconnect with the body

This is a no experience necessary event. All art and journaling supplies will be provided. Each participant will take home a goodie bag with:

• A new journal
• Vinyl stickers
• A Feelings Wheel print by Keila
• Their completed artwork
  

Please bring:

✔️ A yoga mat or large towel

✔️ Comfortable clothes for movement

✔️ A water bottle

This workshop offers mothers a supportive space to pause, breathe, and tend to mental health through creativity, movement, and community connection.

During the event, Creative Academy (next door) will be hosting a kids’ arts and crafts workshop so moms can enjoy their circle in peace.

About the Host

✸ Keila Sachi Gaballo (they/she) is a queer, disabled Shimanchu-Ainu mama, artist, and somatic expressive arts practitioner based in San Diego (Kumeyaay Lands). Through their small business Mahealani and Back and nonprofit Back To You, Keila weaves together art, storytelling, and embodied practices to support healing, representation, and mental health.
