Our Annual Mother's Day of Reflection will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Immaculata Center. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $25.00, which includes lunch and materials. Pre-registration is required no later than May 3rd.
Join us as Kristi Fredieu and Leah Landry from The Light Project speak on "The Sacredness of A Woman's Influence." Gather with The Light Project for a Mother’s Day Reflection as we explore the sanctity of motherhood and the impactful influence of women. Drawing inspiration from the narrative of Mary of Bethany, we'll examine the importance of influence, our innate sacredness, and the brilliance of the feminine spirit. Together, we will illuminate our core values, unveiling our distinctive impact in the sacred spaces where God calls us to live abundantly each day.
Kristi Fredieu spent over 15 years in a full-time career in Marketing and Business Development before feeling a strong desire to order her life and discover her God-given gifts. Through her faith walk, she learned to get comfortable being uncomfortable in her own skin, which led her to start a Bible study in 2015. This experience helped her see the sacredness of embracing messiness, being curious about others' stories, and living courageously vulnerable. As the wife of Josh for over 17 years and the mother of two daughters, Kristi constantly seeks God's guidance in staying rooted in her true identity and purpose.
Leah Landry is a wife, mother of two teenagers, business owner, life coach, and Core Team Member for The Light Project. She’s been married to James for almost 24 years now. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2000, and returned to UL to obtain her Teaching Certification in Secondary English Education. She taught students in Junior High School for 8 years and stayed in the school system for another 2 years in administration.
An accident left her dependent on her family and friends for almost a year. During the time of physical recovery, she realized that she needed more and wanted to be a better example for her children. Leah began the journey of rediscovering her passions and redefining her purpose. She pursued a certification in life coaching, where she gained a greater understanding of how the mind, the brain, and the heart work together.
Currently, she is navigating the world of business ownership, overcoming limiting beliefs and self-doubt, and living her life fully, even though it’s not always perfect. Leah is always on the search for connection and meaningful relationship; but, rocking on porches, warm cups of coffee, deep conversations, music, and exploring new places are what fill her cup.
The Light Project began as a mustard seed planted in 2015 and has since grown into a flourishing non-profit in Acadiana. Their mission is to create sacred spaces that make the world a brighter, more hopeful place. Through God’s grace, they hope to continue to water the seeds of faith transformation in the community
