Mother's Day Charm Jewelry workshop in Montgomery County, Md.

Join Julie Nicholson of Loud Beads (@loudbeads) for a special Mother’s Day Charm Necklace and Bracelet workshop; a creative, meaningful way to celebrate connection, love, and self-expression.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will design custom charm jewelry that tells a story, whether it’s a gift for a loved one or something special for themselves.

This workshop is for:

• Dads, grandparents or friends bringing kids to make a surprise gift for Mom.
• Moms sitting down with their little ones to create a beautiful keepsake.
• Crafters creating a gift for their own mothers.
• Moms making something special for themselves!

All skill levels are welcome, and all materials are provided! Kids ages 5 and older are welcome with an adult (please purchase an “adult and child” ticket), and solo tickets are open to anyone 13+.

What participants will learn and experience:

• How to choose charms that feel meaningful and personal
• How to design a cohesive and beautiful charm necklace or bracelet
• How to assemble and customize jewelry using beginner-friendly tools

In the workshop, crafters will:

• Select from 200+ charms
• Plan a layout that feels personal and visually balanced
• Assemble a custom charm necklace or bracelet step-by-step

What participants will take home:

• A completed custom charm necklace or bracelet in a gift box

All materials will be provided, including jewelry tools, chain, jump rings, and three charms. Additional charms will be available for purchase ($6 to $10 each; payment via Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or cash).

This workshop is led by Julie Nicholson, owner and creator of Loud Beads (@loudbeads), a handmade jewelry and accessories brand focused on self-expression, creativity, and meaningful design.

Julie specializes in beaded bracelets, charm necklaces and bracelets, bead kits, and interactive charm bar experiences. She is known for creating welcoming, beginner-friendly workshops that encourage creativity and connection. Loud Beads has hosted pop-ups, private parties, and creative workshops throughout the DMV area, helping people of all ages express themselves through wearable art.
