My Mother’s Arrangement: A Many Tongues™ Experience

The Many Tongues™ Exhibition continues with My Mother’s Arrangement, a night of poetry and truth-telling that holds both the ache and the tenderness of womanhood and becoming. Curated and performed by Brittini Ward of Eye N Eye LLC, this intimate evening invites guests into a poetic dialogue about the women who shaped us — the beauty, the burden, and the in-between.

Drawing inspiration from Mikaela Evans’ sculptural work of the same name, My Mother’s Arrangement honors the layered legacy of her mother’s influence through the lens of sustainable fashion, sculpture, and spoken word. The installation serves as the evening’s emotional centerpiece — a living altar that anchors the performances and reflections unfolding throughout the night.

Through spoken word, live music, and visual storytelling, My Mother’s Arrangement explores the complexities of care, inheritance, and identity. It is a space for honest reflection — where laughter and tears share the same breath, and love is understood not as perfection but as process.

From 6:00 to 9:00 PM, guests will experience featured performances by One Single Rose®, Eye N Eye the Storyteller™, Phoenix, Explicitly Sha, Jassmine Parks, and Dr. Chanel Beebe, each weaving verse that resonates with themes of transformation, lineage, and maternal memory. The night will also include a community open mic, inviting audience members to share reflections inspired by Evans’ sculpture — exploring how mothers shape our becoming through love, craft, contradiction, and care.

Following the main program, an afterglow from 9:00 PM to midnight will offer continued fellowship, music, and food provided by Ayitis Spaghetti.

Free and open to the public, My Mother’s Arrangement closes the Many Tongues™ Exhibition with a powerful reflection on lineage and creation — where art, story, and ancestry gather to speak in one voice.
