About this Event
MOTHERLOVE: Ways to Support System-Involved Youth
Join us for an insightful evening with Jean Trounstine, professor, activist, and author of Motherlove, a 2024 collection of short stories about ten indomitable mothers dealing with their teen's crimes. With over 30 years of experience in the criminal legal system, including a decade of teaching at Framingham Women's Pr*son, Trounstine brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her work. She has authored seven books, numerous articles, and has received prestigious awards, including the Gramsci Prize.
This event will feature Trounstine discussing her book and engaging in a conversation about ways to support system-involved youth. She will be joined by a panel from More Than Words, including:
- Keyma Mack, Business Training Manager, who works with youth in developing job skills.
- James Mackey, Associate Director of Government Relations and Policy, who has led numerous social justice initiatives at various governmental levels.
- Jarris Charley, Career Service Manager, who helps youth achieve their career goals.
Date and Time: Wednesday, March 5. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Program starts at 6:00 PM.
Special Offer: Free copies of Motherlove will be available, courtesy of the Concord Free Press.
