ABOUT OUR FEATURE - LEFT WRITE HOOK
The voices of eight victim-survivors of child sexual abuse and gendered violence come together for this event’s feature spot, just as they did between July and September ‘24 at a cold boxing gym in Wyndham.
Donna, Zoe J, Alex, C.K Alfaro, ET, Ronnie, Mic and Red will read from Ringside at Left Write Hook, an artistic celebration of the experiences they shared as participants of Left Write Hook’s flagship 8-week trauma-informed writing and boxing program.
A heart breaking yet hopeful record of victim-survivors reclaiming themselves and their bodies through peer-led writing and trauma informed boxing, Ringside at Left Write Hook allows readers to bear witness to the personal journeys of participants over the course of the program through their writings and art.
Each of the eight survivors will read a selection of their published writings from the book that highlight the unique nature of healing, and demonstrate the comfort in connectedness and community.
Ringside at Left Write Hook will be available to purchase on the night, with all proceeds going to Left Write Hook -
a survivor-led charity dedicated to empowering survivors through writing and boxing.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Free Entry for Valid Companion Cards - turn up no need to pre book your ticket.
- Open mic performers sign up on the door and get in free.
- 5 minutes allowed for each open mic performer.
- Chai and vegan yummies available.

HEALTH AWARENESS:
Mother Tongue is committed to supporting the safety of our community. If you feel sick please do not come in person, instead join us digitally.
