Moth Mania

Join us for Moth Mania, our newest Discovering Nature Nearby program exploring the incredible diversity and importance of moths. Often overlooked in favor of their butterfly cousins, moths play a vital role in pollination and serve as an important part of Florida's ecosystems.
Led by wildlife conservationist and moth expert Ken Carman, this program will introduce participants to some of the most common moth species found in Florida, their unique adaptations, and the critical role they play in supporting native plants and wildlife. Ken's work includes surveying moth populations for the South Carolina State Moth Database and creating pollinator habitats through the propagation of native wildflowers.
Join us on Saturday, July 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. and discover a new appreciation for these remarkable nocturnal pollinators!
