O MOTELX - Festival Internacional de Cinema de Terror de Lisboa, em colaboração com o colectivo artístico Liquid Sky, e com o apoio da Thomann, apresenta o MOTELX AV Lab, um programa laboratorial de fusão entre música electrónica e cinema de terror, onde aprenderás a construir os teus próprios instrumentos electrónicos.
Este é um convite para te juntares a nós durante os dias 6 e 7 de Setembro, no Beato Innovation District, para uma exploração disruptiva (e intensiva) por entre os caminhos da arte audiovisual, com workshops de sintetizadores DIY, jam sessions, concertos, performances e cinema underground.
Quer sejas um músico principiante, um cineasta, um designer de som ou simplesmente um artista com curiosidade por instalações de vídeo e VJ art, o MOTELX AV Lab é o recreio para ti. Os nossos workshops são abertos a toda a gente — desde os que estão a iniciar-se aos profissionais experientes à procura de expandir as suas networks e de despertar novas ideias.
A única regra é que te divirtas e te desafies a ti próprio (e, claro, que trates com cuidado e carinho os materiais, os teus colegas e as pontas dos teus dedos).
O que esperar?
Desde demonstrações exclusivas de novos modelos de sintetizadores e jam sessions com instrumentos “caseiros” à manufactura do teu próprio gerador de gritos de zombies ou glitcher de vídeo – podes esperar um bocadinho de tudo. Este é um programa-acção em que podes antecipar todos os verbos possíveis: glitchar, mixar, soldar, ver, escutar, aprender, tocar e dançar! Terás a oportunidade de conhecer alguns dos mais visionários inventores da indústria e, mais importante, de aprender com eles a arte de construir as telas para conseguires pintar paisagens e galáxias sonoras e produzir efeitos experimentais para os teus filmes e música underground.
Ah, e esquece o formato de workshop tradicional. No MOTELX AV LAb abdicamos das palestras em prol de uma experiência muito mais dinâmica e interactiva. O objectivo é criares os teus próprios instrumentos sonoros ou unires-te a esforços colectivos em workshops de remixagem live de filmes e performances de vídeo-arte. Os nossos laboratórios são desenhados para serem altamente participativos e ligeiramente caóticos, adoptando o ambiente perfeito para a criatividade florescer.
Os dois dias do programa terão início de manhã e desenrolar-se-ão ininterruptamente em eventos nocturnos replectos de concertos, showcases de sintetizadores e programas imersivos de TV alternativa e avant-garde. A nossa jam session audiovisual não só te permitirá exibir as tuas novas habilidades e instrumentos, como também farão com que conheças artistas com formas de pensar a arte semelhantes à tua.

Get ready to dive into a world where creativity knows no bounds... Here comes the MOTELX AV LAB co-hosted by Liquid Sky Artistcollective!
MOTELX Film Festival, in collaboration with the Liquid Sky artist collective, and supported by Thomann, presents the MOTELX AV Lab, a laboratorial programme that fuses electronic music and horror cinema, where you'll learn how to build your own electronic instruments.
This is an invitation to join us on September 6 and 7, in the Beato Innovation District, for a disruptive (and intensive) exploration along the paths of audiovisual art, with DIY synthesiser workshops, jam sessions, concerts, performances and underground cinema.
Whether you're a budding musician, a filmmaker, a sound designer, or an artist intrigued by video installations and VJ art, MOTELX AV Lab is your playground. Our workshops are open to everyone — from those just starting out to seasoned professionals looking to expand their networks and spark new ideas.
The only rule is that you have fun and challenge yourself (and, of course, handle the materials, your colleagues, and your fingertips with care).

What to Expect?
From exclusive demonstrations of brand new synthesisers and jam sessions with "homemade" instruments to making your own zombie scream generator or video glitcher – you can expect a bit of everything. This is an action-packed program in which you can anticipate all the possible verbs: to glitch, to mix, to weld, to watch, to listen, to learn, to play and to dance! You'll have the chance to meet some of the industry's most visionary inventors and, more importantly, learn from them the art of constructing the canvas that will allow you to paint soundscapes and galaxies, and produce experimental effects for your underground films and music.
Ah, and forget the traditional workshop format. At the MOTELX AV Lab, we’re ditching the lectures for a dynamic, interactive experience. The goal is to create your own sound instruments or join collective forces in live film remixing workshops and video art performances. Our workshop labs are designed to be participatory, and slightly messy, fostering an environment where creativity thrives.
Each of the two-day programme will start at around 12 noon (the exact times will be announced soon) and will seamlessly transition into evening events filled with concerts, synth showcases, and immersive underground / avant-garde TV shows. Our audiovisual jam sessions will not only allow you to show off your new skills and instruments, but will also allow you to meet artists with similar ways of thinking about art.
