About this Event

(mostly) TRUE THINGS is a game wrapped in a storytelling show, that features a fantastic, entertaining line-up of storytellers each sharing an authentic experience from their own life. But some of these true stories iare "mostly" true - meaning they include a few inaccurate details. The audience can question the storytellers to determine what these lies are (they are subtle, so you have to listen closely). The whole truth comes out in the end. There are prizes involved, if you can believe it. (You can!)

The theme of this evening's show is NEW START. We welcome a stellar line-up. Scroll down for detailed bios.

Susan Wiedeman has woven the art of storytelling and humor into her daily life, connecting people together. As a mother of three amazing young women and wife of over thirty years, sharing stories together has been a sort of glue in her family. As a literacy specialist and dyslexic practitioner working with students at a Long Island public school, she uses storytelling to engage, motivate, and connect striving readers and staff during professional development, helping them experience deeper understanding and move forward with their learning. Susan’s belief in the power of storytelling has also informed her support for student growth and development beyond the formal classroom. She is the teacher-advisor of the “Grow to Learn” horticulture club, integrating her twin desires to foster positive student and environmental outcomes. Moreover, in her role as moderator of the “Think Smart” club, Susan facilitates students’ efforts to identify and resolve real-world problems within their school community. Both organizations encourage young people to tell their own stories and explore those of others in order to do good, feel good, and be good in a world that can be driven by good.

It is through the telling of a good story that Susan has made her way in the world. She’s excited to weave you into the fabric of her story to be shared!
