Join Portland’s sweetheart of problematic musicals for her most personal show yet, as she takes a deep dive into her favorite character: Charity from the 1966 musical comedy “Sweet Charity”.For this 13th episode of Your Favorite Musical is Problematic, we’re bending the formula slightly, while retaining the same irreverent heart.
Backed up by maestro Matt Katz at the piano, you’ll hear Ruby share some personal stories of life, loss, and being hopeful anyway… as they flip through the swingin’ score by playboy-piano-man Cy Coleman and lyricist Dorothy Fields.
@ The Back Door Theater
behind Common Grounds Coffeehouse
🎟️ Tickets are GAY AF (Give As You’re Able, Friends)
***Extra Credit: If you want to review the film beforehand, you’ll have to rent it unfortunately.
It’s not a perfect film, but it’s Bob Fosse’s first movie project and has a great soundtrack.
