Mosaic Crochet Class
Ready to try something that looks way more complicated than it is? Mosaic crochet uses a simple two-color technique to create bold, graphic patterns -- and a mug rug is the perfect project to learn it on. Small enough to finish in one sitting, satisfying enough to make you want to do it again immediately.
In this class, you'll learn to read a mosaic colorwork chart and work drop-down double crochets to create the pattern's signature graphic look. You'll leave with a finished mug rug and a skill set you can take to bigger projects down the road.
What you'll learn:
Reading a mosaic colorwork chart
Drop-down double crochet technique
Two-color work without cutting yarn
Who this class is for: Crocheters who are comfortable with basic stitches. No colorwork experience needed.
What to bring:
Two contrasting colors of yarn -- either worsted weight with a 4.5mm hook, or DK weight with a 3.5mm hook. Smaller hooks tend to keep stitches neat and tidy, so when in doubt, size down.
Scissors and a tapestry needle.
A pattern will be provided.
