Session 1 – Implant Assisted Prosthetics: Full-Arch Removable Treatment Options

Full-arch edentulism presents unique restorative challenges that impact patient function, aesthetics, and quality of life. Dental implants have transformed the treatment landscape, offering patients increased stability, retention, and satisfaction compared to conventional removable prosthetics. This course will review current evidence-based protocols for removable implant-assisted overdentures. Clinical considerations including case selection, implant positioning, attachment systems, biomechanics, and long-term maintenance will be discussed. Through a focus on practical treatment planning, prosthetic design, and patient-centered outcomes, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of when and how to incorporate implant-assisted removable prosthetics into their practice.

  • Differentiate between implant-supported and implant-retained prosthetic designs for full-arch removable restorations.
  • Evaluate patient-specific factors (anatomical, functional, and aesthetic) that guide treatment planning for implant-assisted overdentures.
  • Compare the advantages and limitations of various attachment systems (e.g., bars, Locators®, and magnets) for full-arch removable prosthetics.
  • Develop maintenance protocols and strategies to manage complications in implant-assisted removable prosthetic cases

Session 2 – Implant Assisted Prosthetics: Single and Multi-Unit Fixed Options in the Aesthetic Zone

As implant therapy continues to evolve, the demand for improved aesthetics and precision in fixed prosthodontics has never been greater. This course provides an exploration of prosthetic protocols for both single-unit and multi-unit restorations. Participants will examine diagnosis, treatment planning considerations, material selection, and prosthetic design principles that optimize functional and aesthetic outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on clinical decision-making, optinos for provisionalization, and communication with the dental laboratory. Case studies will highlight practical strategies for achieving predictable, long-term success with implant-supported fixed prosthetics in the maxillary/mandibular anterior region.

  • Distinguish between single-unit and multi-unit fixed implant prostheses and identify their appropriate indications.
  • Integrate conventional implant workflows into treatment planning for predictable restorative outcomes.
  • Select restorative materials, abutments, and prosthetic designs that balance aesthetic and functional demands.
  • Recognize and manage common communication pitfalls with the dental laboratory associated with fixed implant restorations to ensure the highest aesthetic outcomes.

Session 3 - Implant Assisted Prosthetics: Hybrid Treatment Options

Hybrid implant prosthetics provide a versatile solution for patients requiring full-arch rehabilitation by combining the strength of a fixed framework with the convenience of removable acrylic materials. This course will review indications, design considerations, and clinical protocols for hybrid restorations. Participants will gain insights into framework selection, aesthetic tooth selection tips, communication with the dental laboratory, and long-term maintenance. Case-based discussion will focus on balancing functional stability with aesthetic goals while addressing complications unique to hybrid prosthetics.

  • Identify the clinical indications and patient selection criteria for hybrid implant prostheses.
  • Describe framework materials, composite layering options, and design principles for durable hybrid restorations.
  • Apply occlusal and aesthetic considerations to optimize function and patient satisfaction.
  • Recognize and manage common biological and technical complications associated with hybrid prosthetics.

Session 4 - Implant Assisted Prosthetics: Digital Dentistry Treatment Options

Digital dentistry has transformed implant-assisted prosthetics, offering new levels of precision, efficiency, and predictability. This course will explore digital workflows for diagnosis, surgical planning, and restorative execution in single-unit and full-arch cases. Participants will examine the integration of intraoral scanning, 3D printing, and digital planning/collaboration technologies to enhance accuracy and streamline treatment. Clinical case discussions will highlight how digital tools can reduce complications, improve communication, boost profitability, and elevate successful patient outcomes.

  • Apply digital workflows for planning and executing implant-supported prosthetic treatments.
  • Compare the advantages and limitations of intraoral scanning, 3D printing, and CAD/CAM in prosthetic rehabilitation.
  • Incorporate digital tools into surgical-restorative communication for improved treatment predictability.
  • Evaluate clinical outcomes of digital versus conventional workflows in implant prosthetics
