About this Event

P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Morris Collins to celebrate and discuss his new book, ; over a span of five days in 2017, two strangers find themselves in a sea-rocked sanitarium on the coast of Maine where, as they gather at an auction for a piece of art stolen in the Second World War, they must reckon with the wounds of inheritance: shame, displacement, and the longing of exiles.

Morris will be joined in conversation by Sara Lippmann author of . Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Morris will also sign copies of his book.


ABOUT THE AUTHOR
' first novel, Horse Latitudes, was published by Dzanc Books in January 2019. His new novel, The Tavern at the End of History, is forthcoming from Dzanc Books in February 2026. Collins received an O. Henry Award in 2024. The winning story was selected by Amor Towles and appeared in the 2024 edition of The Best Short Stories 2024: The O. Henry Prize Winners. Other fiction and poetry has appeared in Subtropics, Gulf Coast, Pleiades, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Chicago Quarterly Review and The Florida Review among others. He attended the University of Rochester where he studied English and Medieval Studies and received his MFA from Penn State University in 2008. He teaches creative writing and literature at the College of the Holy Cross.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR
is the author of the novel Lech and the story collections Doll Palace and Jerks. Her fiction has won the Lilith Fiction Prize and has been honored by the New York Foundation for the Arts, and her nonfiction has appeared in The Millions, The Washington Post, The Chicago Review of Books, The Lit Hub and elsewhere. With Seth Rogoff, she co-edited the anthology Smashing the Tablets: Radical Retellings of the Hebrew Bible (SUNY Press). She received a BA from Brown and an MFA from The New School, and has been teaching creative writing for over 20 years to people of all ages. She is a founding member of the Writing Co-Lab, an artist-run online teaching cooperative, and the editor-in-chief of Epiphany magazine. Her new novel, Hidden River, is forthcoming in May 2026 from Tortoise Books
