This event will focus on the collaborative efforts essential for developing integrated healthcare solutions. We aim to foster dynamic teams that can effectively tackle the complex challenges of modern healthcare by bringing together clinicians, researchers, commercial experts, and other healthcare professionals.

This event will delve into the strategies for creating cohesive, cross-disciplinary teams and the impact of these collaborations on improving patient care and healthcare delivery.

We are also excited to introduce the Innovation Catalyst Award, launching this July. This award will recognise and support innovative healthcare projects that show potential in transforming healthcare. Attendees will get a first look at the award's criteria and learn how to participate.

Presenter bios

Dr Leo Stevens | Leo is a scientist working beyond the walls of academia, supporting innovation by connecting technology, people, grants and capital. Leo completed a PhD at the ARC Centre for Excellence in Electromaterials Science (ACES) with examiner commendations for outstanding thesis, 11 peer-reviewed publications and an Elsevier Atlas Award. Since graduating, Leo has applied his skills to establish and support technology-focused businesses as a founder, angel investor, podcaster, non-executive director and business development manager. Leo is currently employed as the Business Development Manager (MedTech) for UNSW's Industry and Innovation team.

Prof Lynne Bilston | With a background in biomechanical engineering, the focus of Professor Lynne Bilston's research is on how the soft tissues in the human body respond to mechanical loading—both those loads which cause injury and those which are part of normal function. She develops novel methods for measuring biomechanical properties and behavior of soft tissues in humans, particularly using Magnetic Resonance Imaging and rheometry. She applies these techniques to study mechanisms of traumatic injury, disorders of cerebrospinal fluid flow in the brain and spinal cord, and obstructive sleep apnoea.

A/Prof Vikram Palit | Vikram Palit is an Associate Professor in Health Systems at UNSW Medicine and Health, a Paediatric Respiratory Physician, and the Founder and CEO of Consultmed, a pioneering Australian digital health technology company. His teaching and research focus on value-based healthcare, having spearheaded numerous digital transformation and service improvement programs across both public and private healthcare sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom.
