Morning Ragas - Unique Experience of Rare Ragas
Morning Ragas is a unique series of morning concerts conceptualised and curated by Pancham Nishad, an organisation dedicated to preserving, promoting, and popularising India’s rich heritage of performing arts.
Conceived as “an immersive journey into the richness of morning melodies, where Indian classical ragas awaken the spirit with peace, devotion, and harmony,” the series celebrates the profound significance of morning ragas in Indian Classical Music. Traditionally rendered during the early hours of the day, these ragas are believed to establish a deep emotional and spiritual connection, infusing the mind with serenity and the environment with positivity.
The meditative and contemplative nature of morning ragas helps awaken inner consciousness, evoke devotion, and create harmony between the listener and nature. In an era marked by fast-paced lifestyles and increasing stress, these timeless melodies offer a rare opportunity for introspection, rejuvenation, and spiritual enrichment. Beyond preserving the legacy of Indian classical traditions, Morning Ragas provides audiences with a meaningful cultural experience that resonates deeply in contemporary times.
While cities across India regularly host evening classical music concerts, opportunities to experience music in the tranquil ambience of the morning remain scarce. Morning Ragas seeks to bridge this gap by bringing these exquisite melodies to discerning audiences in culturally vibrant cities.
Mr. Shashi Vyas, Director of GRACE Foundation & Pancham Nishad, says that in today’s demanding world, Pancham Nishad has consistently championed music as a means of achieving inner harmony and peace of mind by successfully organising numerous musical initiatives across the country.
This particular concert featuring veteran vocalist Suhas Vyas focuses on seldom-heard ragas and select musical creations that emerged during the twentieth century. Offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience vintage and lesser-known dimensions of Indian classical music, the concert is specially designed for discerning listeners and connoisseurs seeking depth, authenticity, and artistic excellence.
The said concert is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 12th July 2026 10 am onwards featuring veteran vocalist Suhas Vyas. He shall be accompanied by Vishwanath Shirodkar on Tabla and Sudhanshu Gharpure on Harmonium.
