Morning Makers: Sculpting the Surface

Little artists, this one's for you!
Join us for Morning Makers, our monthly family program that brings art off the walls and into your hands. This month, we're taking inspiration from Costantino Nivola's Maquette for Olivetti Mural — a small model packed with raised shapes, textured forms, and sculptural depth. Together, we'll explore how Nivola used these elements to create visual interest and how the work was designed to be part of a shared, everyday space.
Then it's time to make! Families will head to the studio with teaching artist Nancy Fried for a hands-on clay workshop, creating their own relief sculptures by experimenting with form, texture, and dimension — just like Nivola did.
Each Morning Makers session features a new theme, artwork, and artmaking experience. Designed for children ages 5–12. Preregistration required.
