Morning Dance Jam

You’re invited to an intimate morning of movement and connection at the Portland Queer Healers Collective!

We’re hosting a dance space designed for those who love the flow of ecstatic dance and the spontaneity of contact improvisation. Come enjoy a friendly, community-centered vibe where you can be your Portland self. For heart-centered, self-loyal, consent forward, movement lovers.

• 10:00 AM: Opening circle, name check-ins, and a 10-minute guided movement warm-up.
• The Jam: An ecstatic-style fun musical journey supporting solo movement and contact improv.
• 11:45 AM: Closing circle and group check-out.
• 12:00 PM: Event ends.
• 12:30 PM: Done mingling, chao! Head out for lunch with new friends, as desired.

We are co-creating a nurturing, trauma-informed space where everyone's boundaries are deeply honored, and all intersections of identity are respected. Most participants will be dancing solo most of the time. Please wait for a clear, enthusiastic "yes" through eye contact or mirrored movement before initiating physical contact with another dancer. You are always free to end any dance at any time, for any reason, without the need for an explanation or an apology. To maintain a safe, present container, we move without excessive talking in the dance space and refrain from wearing strong scents.

Whether you're looking to explore contact dance or just want to lose yourself in the music, music heals, connects, and we’d love to have you in the circle. We're charging $5 to test our payment system, leading up to many future events! Come dance with a sweet group of max 16 people.
