Join us for Morning Calm with Hanna Horobynska, pianist from the Royal College of Music, who will be playing works by Valentyn Sylvestrov, Vasyl Barvinskyi, Horobynska, Borys Lyatoshynsky, Mykola Kollessa and Levko Revutskyi

Morning Calm is a short piano recital beginning at 8.40am, consisting of around 10-12 minutes of music followed by a few minutes' silence for reflection and meditation before ending with brief prayers for the day ahead. You are most welcome to stay for the whole recital or if you would prefer not to stay for the Christian conclusion to leave just before the end. Morning Calm aims to offer a reflective and calm start to the day for people of any faith or none in the hustle and bustle of the West End of London.
As always admission is free.
Hanna Horobynska is a Ukrainian composer and pianist working across contemporary classical, electronic, and film music. Her work often engages with social themes, shaping them into nuanced and poetic artistic forms. Alongside her compositional practice, she maintains an active presence as a pianist, frequently performing both her own works and contemporary repertoire. Her music has been presented by leading performers and institutions across Europe and North America, including in Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Horobynska is a Gaude Polonia Scholar (2024), Culture Moves Europe grantee (2025), and Artist at Risk resident (2025). She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Composition and Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music, where she is an RCM Scholar (2025-27).
She previously studied composition and sound design at the National Music Academy of Ukraine (Kyiv), graduating with honours, and has been a visiting student at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (Warsaw), where she explored sound direction. She later completed an academic exchange at the Freiburg Institute of Music, where, alongside her composition studies, she further developed her piano practice under the mentorship of Timur Gazratov and actively participated in interdisciplinary projects as both composer and pianist.
