About this Event
Join the City of San Diego for a behind-the-scenes look at Pure Water San Diego, the City's phased, multi-year program that will provide nearly half of San Diego's water supply locally by 2035. The Pure Water Program will use proven water purification technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water for a reliable, sustainable water supply.
You are invited to tour the Morena Pump Station construction site at the southwest corner of Custer Street and Sherman Street north of Interstate 8. As part of the Pure Water Program, the Morena Pump Station project will divert an average of 32 million gallons per day of wastewater from the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant to the North City facilities on Eastgate Mall. The Morena Pump Station project also includes the construction of overflow sewers, diversion structures, and a junction structure on the section of Friars Road adjacent to the pump station site.
This tour is on an active construction site. All participants must wear flat, closed toe shoes and long pants, and if possible, please bring your own safety vest and hard hat. A limited number of vests and hard hats will be available on site.
