This unmissable poetry reading will be held at Wallers Brewery, located in Sunbridgewells, a subterranean venue in Bradford's tunnel system.

We are excited to bring you this event celebrating Rachael Allen's astonishing collection God Complex (Faber, 2024) alongside some of the north's finest poets Bonnie Hancell and Liam Bates.

Rachael Allen is the author of Kingdomland and God Complex, both published by Faber. She works as an editor and lecturer in London.

Bonnie Hancell is a poet/artist from Northern England. Her creative practice focuses around experiences with desire, illness, queer kink, the trans body, internet sub-cultures and reestablishing notions of divinity or sacredness. She often uses creative practice as therapy for ongoing struggles with mental illness and as catharsis from trauma/survivorship. Her poetry has been included in anthologies by Easter Road Press, Poet’s Hardship Fund, Pilot Press.and featured in periodicals The Rialto, The Poetry Review and LUDD GANG. Her first chapbook was published by GONG FARM in 2022. Her debut full length collection In This Allegory (Where We Disappear) was published by Death of Workers Whilst Building Skyscrapers press in 2024.

Liam Bates is a poet originally from the Black Country now living in Lancashire. His poems have appeared in places including Berlin Lit, Under the Radar and Magma. His first two pamphlets and his debut full-length collection, Human Townsperson, are available from Broken Sleep Books. He won a Northern Writers’ Award and a Society of Authors grant for work towards his second collection.
