An Interactive Evening of Music & Poetry
🌹 With a Special Tribute to Coleman Barks
This is not just a performance or an open mic…
It is an interactive journey to the heart through the poetry of Rumi —
woven with live music, spoken word, and shared experience.
Throughout the evening:
• Poems are spoken
• Songs arise from those words
• The audience is gently invited into moments of reflection, repetition, and connection
🌹 Special Tribute
We will pause to honor Coleman Barks, the beloved poet and translator who brought Rumi’s words into the English-speaking world.
Having lived here in Tennessee, his presence touched many lives both locally and beyond. This evening offers a heartfelt space to remember and honor his legacy.
🎤 Open Mic + Live Improvisation
In the second half of the evening:
• Guests are invited to share poetry
• Select pieces may be explored through live musical improvisation
🌌 Closing Experience
We close with “We Are the Mirror” —
a gentle, interactive experience of reflection, movement, and connection.

Musical interpretations by Dina Capitani and Massood Taj.with house musicians include John Paul, Robbie Cox and Xander Stopp. Sufi art by Seemi Rizvi. Bring your favorite poem or quote by Rumi. Limited spots available to read. Sign ups begin at 6 pm. Light refreshments provided.
