We kick off with a Wild Style-themed Happy Hour, followed by an introduction and conversation with Grandmaster Flash, Charlie Ahearn, and Jeff "Chairman" Mao, and then we screen the film.
Regarded as the first hip-hop motion picture, Wild Style features influential figures, such as Fab Five Freddy, Lee Quinones, Lady Pink, the Rock Steady Crew, The Cold Crush Brothers, Queen Lisa Lee of Zulu Nation, and, of course, the legendary Grandmaster Flash.
This year's Moonlight & Movies film series is inspired by the Museum's hit exhibition New York, New Music: 1980 - 1986.
