The time has come! Come dressed in your best Queer Prom look and celebrate the lift off of MOONBOY as it makes its local premiere.
As we enter the year of the rabbit, join us for an evening of recognition and rebirth as we celebrate the community that made this film possible.
"Following the tragedy of their mother’s death, non-binary high school student Aidan Lee is struggling to return to “normal life”. Known as the comic relief among their goofy friends and traditional Chinese family, Aidan is constantly surrounded by others yet feels alone. As their life begins to skip like a CD from the trauma, Aidan dresses in their mother's drag in hopes of reconnecting."
Written and directed by local "gaysian" filmmaker Rachel Kwan, not only is their directorial debut an official selection of the Toronto LGBTQ+ Film Festival 2022, as well as the Canada Shorts Film Festival 2022, but it’s also taking home the award for “Best Student Film” at the respective Toronto film fest.
And after all the credits have rolled, dance the night away with no fear of judgement at the MOONBOY After-Party. No matter how you identify, grab your friends and come experience the euphoria of Queer Prom (with a couple surprises along the way!).
