Kilkenny artist Michael O'Fearghail showcases a selection of his new water landscapes at Reds Gallery Dublin in October.
These works trace the restless beauty of the Irish water landscape and the interaction between the Irish sky and the shifting waterscapes of our coastlines and inland lakes. Utilising bold brushstrokes and heavy palettes, these canvases seek to evoke the raw energy, rhythm, and immersive depth of the wild Atlantic and the quiet mystery of our inland waters.
Michael is a self taught artist, working in watercolour and acrylic. He is especially drawn to marine subject, the coast, river and lakes. He held his first exhibition in 2019 during the Kilkenny Arts Festival. Since then he has exhibited in Portumna and every year in Thomastown during the Thomastown Creative Arts Festival.
This is his first solo exhibition in Dublin.
